After the loss of my mother, I began to devote myself intensively to artistic expression as a refuge and expression of my feelings, some of which were unknown to me, and thus began from pencil and charcoal drawings to acrylic and a touch of illustration to the current exploration of oil painting.

Apart from a few "master copies" (e.g. Rembrandt), my works aim at individual interpretation and embody the result of an emotion-led work process, allowing the viewer to find recurring symbols which, in combination with the emotions depicted, usually reflect the current situation of my state of mind. Among other things, this makes living out and creating art an intimate and personal process for me, in which the viewer can identify and at the same time be encouraged to (critical) self-reflection.

As I am still at the beginning of my artistic career, I like to experiment a lot with different painting and drawing surfaces, such as different coloured cardboards, canvases and wooden materials. Equally variable is the choice of colours (acrylic/oil/pencil) and the combination of techniques, for example ink and acrylic, in order to explore new effects and mental spaces. However, I plan to explore more techniques and art forms and to find new, challenging motifs.

My search for motifs began in the animal world and led me from still lifes and other depictions of nature to the depiction of non-organic themes and finally to a more intensive examination of the human form as a portrait or full-body portrait.

portraits of the whole body, with a strong emphasis on movement and the emotion of expression.

The human or physical or organic representation has proved to be particularly relevant on the way to my personal style, which is why I am increasingly focussing on it in my (current) art practices.
